As the school year races toward the finish line, one thing is clear: Cicero West Elementary School is not slowing down — they are accelerating toward excellence. 

With only a few weeks left in the year, keeping energy and motivation high can be a challenge... but Cicero West went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure students and families finish strong together. 

Parents packed the school for the final "Coffee with the Principal," creating a powerful space for connection, communication, and community. Parents received important school updates, connected with organizations offering valuable support and resources to our community, and this time, students got to join in too — making it even more special. A beautiful reminder that when schools and families work together, students thrive. 

And when it came time to prepare students for end-of-year MAP testing, Cicero West didn't just encourage students... they created an EXPERIENCE. 

The entire school transformed into a high-energy speedway with their incredible "Racing Toward MAP Goals" initiative — complete with race car themes, decorations throughout the building, and nonstop excitement designed to motivate every student to give their absolute best. 

To top it all off, the school hosted an unforgettable Spring MAP Pep Rally for the entire student body. Students were cheered on with words of encouragement, success tips, and a whole lot of school spirit. There were inflatable car races that had students laughing and competing with excitement, and the celebration even included a surprise visit from everyone's favorite mascot, Eddie the Eagle! 

THIS is what dedication looks like. THIS is what student-centered leadership looks like. THIS is what happens when a school refuses to let the end-of-year fatigue slow down its mission.
