Yesterday afternoon, the boys and girls from Unity's cross country teams ran their final races of the season at the West Suburban Middle School Conference Meet at Summit Park District, battling it out against dozens of other runners from area junior-high schools, ioncluding Heritage Middle School (Summit), Lincoln Middle School (Berwyn), Heritage Middle School (Berwyn), Roosevelt Middle School (Bellwood), Freedom Middle School (Berwyn) and Stevenson Middle School (Melrose Park).
While all runners finished the season leaving sweat, tears and grass kicked up along the 2-mile path, a special shout-out goes out to Genesis Reyna Flores, a seventh-grader at Unity who placed 3rd overall in the Girls Junior Varsity race with a final time of 15:51!

In the Varsity Boys race, eighth-grader Dylan Rojo Mejia finished in 4th place with a final time of 12:30!
